Trip to Umbria

Last weekend I went on a weekend roadtrip with Matteo & his parents to Umbria. We left Rome and head to Perugia. The beautiful medieval city is now famous for the american student murder mystery, which is quite a shame. It should be famous for the medieval architecture and the chocolate.  We walked around all day, there was a nice antique market where they had anything from vintage Dior sunglasses, to old classical guitars. The view overlooking the piazza was absolutely breathtaking. The rolling hills of Umbria, the streets lined with cypress trees, and the smell of fresh bread, and the town's church bell ringing was definitely a nice break from the hustle and bustle of Rome.

After a day in Perugia we headed to the small mountain town of Bevagna, where we stayed for the night. The next morning we got back in the car and drove to Orvieto. It was absolutely stunning. The was the town celebration, where the capture it in a cage and the cage is on a zip line type of thing and goes to the town's square and then they let the dove fly free. Seemed like it was news years or something- apparently a huge deal the Orvieto natives.

Orvieto is set on a huge natural rock, so the views were stunning. Take a look at some of the many photos I took.
